ABOUT

CLAIRE
DUBOIS
I qualified with honours from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School, part of Imperial College, London. I subsequently trained in rheumatology and general medicine in London, Liverpool and Sydney. During my training, I obtained a master’s degree in rheumatology. In 2011, I was appointed as an NHS consultant rheumatologist at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen hospitals (now part of LUHFT), where I am the clinical lead for the early arthritis clinic.
As a Rheumatologist, I specialise in the assessment and management of conditions that affect the joints, muscles, bones and spine. I offer clinical expertise in a wide variety of adult musculoskeletal conditions, for example, all types of arthritis, gout, lupus, sjogren’s, polymyalgia rheumatica, vasculitis, fibromyalgia, osteoporosis, menopause-related joint pain, and more.
If you have symptoms such as pain or stiffness in your joints, spine or muscles, I offer a detailed clinical assessment to help find the cause of your symptoms, expert advice on management of your condition, and treatments including joint injections. A referral from your GP is not necessary to book an appointment, although of course I am happy to accept referrals from GPs, including online GPs, and from other specialists and practitioners.
At Spire Murrayfield, I can offer you the tests you may need to help identify the cause of your symptoms. This may include blood tests or imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound and MRI scans. I work closely with the musculoskeletal radiologists who provide rapid, expert reports.
